Dear Parent,
Congratulations on the birth of your baby!
The next few months will be an exciting time for you, and as
parents, concerns regarding nutrition and care of your baby
are common. We will be available to answer any questions you
may have about your baby.
As your baby's physician, we feel it is our obligation to share
important information with you regarding infant nutrition.
You should know that nutrition will never be more important
than in your baby's first year. What you feed your baby during
infancy will be the foundation for your child's growth and
development.
We hope that you have decided to breast feed your baby.
Breast - feeding gives the optimum nutrition your baby will need.
If you cannot, for some reason, or have decided not to breast-
feed we will recommend a formula that best meets your baby's
nutritional needs.
Again, congratulations on your new family addition. We are
looking forward to caring for your new baby. Remember, never
will nutrition be more important that in the first year.
